Budapest

Are you planning on going on a trip to Budapest and looking for information about this incredible city in Hungary? Stay here. On this website you will find everything you need to know about Budapest.

About the city

Budapest is the beautiful capital of Hungary and has around 1.8 million inhabitants. It’s situated in the north of the country and lies at the banks of the famous Danube river. This river divides the city in two parts; Buda and Pest. Buda is the historical part in the hills. And pest is more lively with most bars and restaurants situated there.

What a beauty

Budapest is getting more and more popular each year, with around 700,000 British nationals visiting each year. And there is a good reason for that. The city is very beautiful and it is often referred to as ‘Paris of the North’ or ‘Pearl of the Danube’.

Once you are in the Hungarian capital and enjoy a stroll along, or make a cruise on the Danube, you will fully understand the magic and attraction of this city. Everywhere you look there is something nice to see. Something historically interesting, or an architectural masterpiece. Even the normal buildings in the city can be beautiful.

Budapest is fun for everyone

Budapest has a lot to offer for everyone. If you love culture, then it’s the place to be. You can pay a visit to the impressive Hungarian Parliament building, to one of the many musea, or to the Fisherman’s Bastion.

There is also an attractive nightlife in the city. You can visit one of the unique Ruin Bars. These bars or pubs are situated in old buildings which were listed to be taken down. Even if you don’t want to go out during night, its a good idea to visit one of those during daytime.

Also you can find the best food, coffee, wine and beers in the Hungarian capital. And on top off all that: Budapest is cheap.

When to go?

The weather in Budapest is pretty unpredictable. But all seasons have something nice to offer to the Hungarian capital. In winter you can visit the Christmas markets and if you are lucky you will see the city covered with snow. In spring the temperature is nice and soft and you can walk around on foot all day and during summer you have the highest chances of warm weather. And last but not least: in autumn the colours of the trees are just amazing, especially on a warm and sunny day.

Looking for a hotel?
Check out my two personal favourites: TG Design suites Aparthotel & Hotel Rum (which is Buda-side of the city). Other hotels which are popular, have good ratings and are located very well are Roombach Hotel and AnVa House.
