Hungarian climate

Hungary is situated halfway between the equator and the North Pole. And it’s also situated in between 3 different climates. Between the oceanic climate – which has constant temperatures and precipitation, the continental climate – with more extreme temperatures and moderate precipitation, and the Mediterranean climate – with dry weather in summer and wet weather in winter.

All of these 3 climates can get alternately dominant in Budapest. This is why the weather in this city is quite hard to predict and can change accordingly. It can be cool one day, while the next day you can walk around in your shorts.

Please take this into account when you travel to Budapest and take during spring and atumn clothes with you for several weather types.
